Case Study
Printer management for growing businesses
James’ Places: A hotel group with a growing portfolio of hotels and restaurants came to us to help them organise their print environment.
Overview
Printer Management
Printer management for growing businesses brings about its own kind of challenges. How do you grow and continue to manage your printing?
At James’ Places, the challenge was compounded by the non typical spaces that they operated in. So they came to us for help.
Overview
James’ Places Problem
Many of James’ Places’ establishments are old coaching houses, and their physical layout often doesn’t suit just one, centralised photocopier in the way that a modern office does.
So our challenge was to provide the print volume, driven by weddings and hotel guests, whilst handling what the building could actually accommodate.
James’ Places were also struggling with cost and reliability of equipment, which is what prompted them to speak to us in the first place.
Solution
Our Approach
We carried out a full site assessment, to establish its footprint and print volumes.
At the Mitton Hall site, for example, the back office is quite small, so we had to find the right machine for the space, while balancing deployment across the rest of the site.
What they said about us
Many thanks to Russ and the team at Copy Print for providing excellent services to the James Places group. Their flexible and accommodating approach has been very helpful in supporting our venues as the business expands.

What’s happening now
Across the 10–12 sites that James’ Places currently runs, we supply in the region of 20-25 machines.
Their acquisition-led growth model also means that as they continue to grow, their print needs do to.
So we remain flexible enough to expand their print estate along with them.
